Following a site inspection this morning at Aston Marina it is obvious that the ground is too waterlogged and not fit for purpose.
Accordingly it has been necessary to cancel the arrangements for the park-and-ride facility. There will therefore be no Park and Ride car park at Aston Marina this weekend.
Currently there are no obvious alternatives available. Visitors are therefore advised to use public transport if at all possible. First Bus operate the 101 service calling at Stone between Stafford and Hanley via Newcastle.
Stone railway station is a short walk from the town and is on the Stoke to Stafford line. A regular one hour service operates in both directions.
If you intend to park in or near the town please do so responsibly and do not cause any obstruction.
We are appealing to any local businesses or venues who would be willing to make their carparks available. If we receive any such offers we will publish details immediately.
