Having reviewed several meteorological forecasts and inspected site this morning, we are pleased to announce that the 2023 Stone Food & Drink Festival will be going ahead as planned.
According to the Met Office Staffordshire is not officially in the Moderate Weather Warning zone affecting the South West and Eastern areas. While we do expect some spells of wet weather, there are plenty of undercover spaces – including the ‘spider’ tents in the centre of the site, several pop-up bars, the beer tent, gourmet shopping marquee, demonstration kitchen and talks & tastings tent for visitors to escape the weather.
We strongly advise sensible footwear – wellies or sturdy boots – and that you dress for the weather. We have hosted festivals in far wetter conditions than this and still had a fantastic weekend! With regard Griffin & Grey’s call not to run their pop-up restaurant while we respect their decision we are disappointed that they will not be part of this year’s event. Unfortunately Saturday’s town centre market has also been cancelled following a decision from the council to cancel their own market which was running alongside the festival edition.
Naturally, safety remains our prime concern and we will continue to monitor conditions throughout the event and, if necessary, take the required actions.
We hope you join us for a fantastic day of foodie fun – to support the brilliant traders and businesses who have turned out to help make this a great event. If you are an advance ticket holder for Saturday and would prefer to visit on Sunday, your ticket will still be valid so long as it has not been redeemed.
